BioCompute Secures Prestigious WTFund Backing: A New Chapter of Innovation

  • by

We are thrilled to announce that BioCompute has officially been backed by one of India’s biggest and boldest non-dilutive grants for young founders – the WTFund. This monumental achievement marks a turning point in our journey and sets the stage for an exciting future of growth and innovation.

WTFund: Nikhil Kamath’s Vision for Young Entrepreneurs

The WTFund is the brainchild of Nikhil Kamath, the visionary founder of Zerodha, Gruhas, and True Beacon. Known for his groundbreaking success as a first-generation entrepreneur, Nikhil has created the WTFund to give back to the startup ecosystem and support young founders across India. His passion for empowering entrepreneurs drives the mission of this fund, offering not only financial backing but also a rich network and mentorship opportunities.

Emerging as a Top 9 Company

Securing this grant was no easy feat. BioCompute underwent a rigorous selection process, competing against over 1,500 talented applicants from across India. After months of evaluation and several challenging rounds, we emerged as one of the top 9 companies chosen for this incredible opportunity.

This isn’t just about the financial support—it’s a recognition of the potential and vision of BioCompute, validating the work we’ve been passionately building. The selection highlights the strength of our mission and places us on a trajectory that will help propel our innovation forward.

An Evening with Nikhil Kamath

One of the most memorable moments of this journey was meeting Nikhil Kamath himself at the WTFund office in Bangalore. For BioCompute’s founder, Anagha, the experience was even better than Nikhil’s popular WTF podcast, which happens to be a personal favorite.

Sitting right next to Nikhil, Anagha had the opportunity to discuss BioCompute’s journey, challenges, and vision for the future. Nikhil, ever-curious and insightful, asked meaningful questions and expressed a genuine interest in supporting BioCompute beyond the grant itself. The 15-minute conversation was nothing short of surreal and will undoubtedly influence the path forward for the company.

A Community of Entrepreneurs

Beyond the conversation with Nikhil, the WTFund event brought together an inspiring group of entrepreneurs, each making a significant impact in their respective industries. This opportunity allowed us to connect, share insights, and build relationships with other founders, creating a life-long community of like-minded individuals we can turn to throughout our entrepreneurial journey.

A Special Thanks to the WTFund Team

We’re deeply grateful to the WTFund team, including Harnidh, Suchet, Vivek, and Arshia, for their unwavering support. Their care extended beyond the usual founder-funder relationship, with thoughtful gestures such as checking on our well-being during and after the event. Their dedication to making founders feel welcome and supported has been truly appreciated.
